Pedro Ramos-Castillo passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 after five years of bravely battling a long fought illness. His family and loved ones were able to offer him a peaceful and beautiful farewell before he ascended to heaven into the loving embrace of our heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. Once in the presence of our Lord he was welcomed by his late great-grandson, Brandon Alexander Gomez, his late brother Leonso Ramos Castillo as well as his late children; Marta Lilian Ramos Velasquez, Gilberto Ramos Velasquez, and Geofredo Ramos Velasquez.
Pedro Ramos-Castillo is the late son of Manuel Castillo and Florentina Ramos. Born on May 19, 1931 (age 89) in El Salvador DPTE San Miguel CA, Pedro was a man full of passion and remained committed to all of those that he loved throughout his life. He was especially committed to his faith, always accompanied by his devoted wife and best friend as well as the large family they eventually created. In his younger years, he devoted much of his time serving as a Deacon in the parish of Maria Madre De Los Pobres in San Salvador. Through his missionary work he was able to aid and educate his community, local youth, as well as offer much needed help and care to the sick and dying. His sermons centered on compassion, forgiveness, love, humility, and family. In addition to his passion for religion and service, he had a love of music, dancing and often quietly indulged in his favorite snack which consisted of "lechitas y pan dulce" (milk and sweet bread).
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Marta Velasquez De Ramos, his loving children: Rafel Ramos Velasquez, Dora Ramos Velasquez De Garcia, Cesar Ramos Velasquez, Nelly Ramos Velasquez Youngman, Teresa Ramos Velasquez, Anivar Ramos Velasquez, Elsa Ramos Velasquez De Flores, Marta Lilian Ramos De Alvaros, Argelia Ramos Velasquez, Oscar Ramos Velasquez, twenty-one grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. He leaves a host of extended family and friends who will miss him greatly including his siblings: Jose Felix Ramos Castillo, Jose Cristoval Ramos Castillo, Maximo Ramos Castillo, Arcadia Valentine Ramos De Garcia, Maria Ramos Castillo, Simona Ramos Castillo, Candida Rosa Ramos Castillo, and Antonia Ramos Castillo. Pedro touched many lives through his generosity, quiet dedication, and immeasurable love for his extensive family. Through these acts during his long life, he
will forever be remembered, celebrated, and loved.
Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Windsor Mill, MD on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 5:00 pm till the start of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00pm and also on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home, Inc., 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge, MD 21075 from 10:00 am to 2:00pm where the Committal Service and Interment will be held at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD at 2:30 pm.

Pedro Ramos-Castillo falleció el sábado 1 de agosto de 2020 después de cinco años de luchar valientemente contra una enfermedad largamente combatida.
