Robert James Brown

Robert James Brown, 78, of Catonsville, Maryland, formerly of Arbutus, Maryland and Pasadena, Maryland, died March 11, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born February 11. 1945, in Baltimore and was the son of the late Charles (Ray) Brown and Mary Jean (Miller) Brown. He was also the son-in-law of the late John E. Firth and the late Virginia (Blumenfeld) Firth and father-in-law to the late David R. Burns. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pamela (Firth) Brown and daughters Jennifer (Brian) Mitarotonda (Brambleton, Virginia) and Tracey Burns (Perry Hall, Maryland) and grandsons Zachary Mitarotonda, Aiden Mitarotonda and Collin Burns. He is also survived by three sisters and three brothers: Dot (Craig) Ziegler of Conway, South Carolina, Jay (Bill) Copper of Aynor, South Carolina, Kathy (Mike) Heilman of Conway, South Carolina, John (Sue) Brown of Elkridge, Maryland, Chuck (Tracy) Brown of Lone Tree, Colorado and Chris (Kim) Brown of Relay, Maryland. He is also survived by sister-in-law Karen (Gil) Morris of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and 18 nieces and nephews.
Robert graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School (Baltimore) in 1963 and from the University of Baltimore in 1969. After graduating college, he worked most of his professional career in equipment leasing and financing. After retiring, he missed working and started his own small consulting business, Prime Capital, LLC, where he consulted with federal government contractors to assist them in finding business financing. Besides enjoying fishing and golf, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons.
A memorial service will be held at St. Augustine Church , 5976 Old Washington Blvd, Elkridge, Maryland 21075 on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society or the American Heart Association.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Coronary Intensive Care Unit for their care and support.
