Rockne lived a full and accomplished life, marked by a successful career, a love of music and sports, extensive travels, and, most importantly, the people he loved.
Rockne began his career in investigations in 1972 and joined Commercial Index Bureau, Inc. (CIB) in 1974. During his long career, he became highly respected in the investigative and surveillance profession. His work took him throughout the United States and around the world, and he was actively involved with professional investigative organizations, including the World Association of Detectives. After retiring from CIB, Rockne continued doing what he knew and loved by establishing his own consulting business, Versa Confidential Consulting, LLC.
Outside of his professional life, Rockne had many interests. Music was a lifelong favorite. He played the drums and especially enjoyed the music of Led Zeppelin and Chicago. He loved attending concerts and experiencing live music whenever he had the opportunity.
Rockne was also an avid sports fan. In his younger years, he played basketball for the WCAO Good Guys basketball team. He continued to enjoy basketball throughout his life, along with playing golf and cheering on his Baltimore Ravens.
He appreciated good food and was always ready to enjoy Maryland crabs and seafood, Italian food, or a good steak. Traveling was another important part of Rockne's life. His career afforded him the opportunity to travel throughout the world, creating countless experiences and stories along the way.
Rockne is survived by his loving companion, Joan D. Palmisano; his daughter, Erin D. Bice and her husband, Don K. Bice; and his grandchildren, Matthew B. McQuin and Morgan D. McQuin. He was preceded in death by his son, Dean C. Cooke.
Rockne will be remembered for a life that took him around the world, a career of which he could be proud, his love of music and sports, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
