Rodney (Rod) Michael Spangler, 68, of Glen Burnie, MD passed away May 10, 2024, peacefully at home. Rodney was born November 30, 1955, in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Cardinal Gibbons (1973) before moving onto University of MD where he graduated Cum Laude (1981.) Rodney worked for the state of Maryland as a finance officer until he retired (2010.) Rodney enjoyed many activities that included fishing and crabbing, going on cruises, racing with Team TGM, dressing up as Santa during the holidays, and spending time with his family.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Patricia Spangler, his daughter and son-in-law La’Kina and Scott Jones, and his grandchildren Mason and Abbigail Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Spangler.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 2:00-4:00pm & 6:00-8:00pm where a Service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:00 am. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
