I Will never forget the sacrifices you made for our family and especially, the sacrifices and everything you lost bc you loved me. I'm truly regretful for never realizing that while growing up. I respect you so much, and i would trade places with you in an instant, without hesitation or question. I think of you every day, and I am proud to be your oldest daughter, and I am trying to be my best to make you proud one day. I love you so much, and i will always have a hole in my heart until we meet again. 💕Thank you for loving me, even though I don't deserve it. ❤️

I always called Ron our resident chef.  I am so sad that he is gone.  It just seems like yesterday when he stopped by the office and we stood by the coffee machine just talking about life.   I have worked with Ron since our Integral System days and I always plan things going on in the office if he was in town or not. Even when he knew there was no way he could attend an event he would cook in advance and freeze it for us.  I remember the times he would ask me to borrow items so he could feed the police department or some other group that he wanted to help out.  This was the type of man he was, giving, caring and always looking out for others.  May he rest in peace and the angels take care of him the way he always took care of others.

I was deeply saddened to hear that our loved friend had passed on.  He was just......an awesome guy.  I had the pleasure to work with him and he made it seem like we were all family.  His warm demeanor was so welcoming and the jokes........they just kept coming.  Working with him, he was always ready to smile and keep things lighthearted while we got things done.  May you rest in peace and prayers/hugs to his family during this time.  You will be missed Ron. 

I was lucky enough to work with Ron for over 20 years at various companies.   A group of us used to joke that we were a package deal and that if a company hired one of us, the rest of us were soon to follow.   But Ron was much more  than a co-worker.  He was a great friend, so incredibly thoughtful, generous, funny, and kind.  I can't say enough good things about him.  I'm going to miss you buddy.  

Please accept my deepest condolences.  I only knew Ron for a short time, but I so appreciated his kindness, patience, and helpfulness when dealing with my many, many questions.  I will miss listening to his stories and working with him.

Hello Joanne and family:
My heart goes out to you and your family. Ron and I were part of the Integral and Kratos family for many years. He was always very kind to me. I worked in HR and talked to Ron all the time about work, His Family, and His cooking. We All know that he did that well and was always happy sharing. He will be greatly missed, especially for making people feel like they’re no less than anyone else. 

Ron was a treasure to so many people. He was always asking how people were doing in the midst of staying very productive at work. As I have been battling cancer since last year, Ron has been on the sidelines cheering for the victory. It has been so encouraging to talk with someone who understands. He always said whatever he could to help and was great at listening. By the grace of God, and the prayers and help of so many people like Ron, the cancer is now gone. We can never forget Ron at work. Sending prayers for comfort for your whole family. 

When I started in 1997 my first office mate was a guy named Ron Davies. It was strange because after 2 months I never met Ron Davies and I wasn't even sure if he was a real person. This was because he spent all of that time in a place called Hawley Pa. 

He was a great engineer but he had the uncommon ability to be both technical but also great with people, which is indeed rare with engineers. Customers loved him because he was so personable but he was also someone they could trust.

Personally, I am really sad because I lost a friend and you don't get a lot of those over a life time. Over the years, I really cherished his friendship. He would talk about his kids and grand kids and you just know that he was spoiling those grand kids as well as the grand dogs. To Ron, life and family were one and the same.  

I am including a picture that was taken in Vietnam. A group of brave engineers were installing a system to a new customer who also was new to satellites and new to technology in general. Every day, at home, we would get reports about rats on the ground station consoles and meals where you picked your snake for dinner. No electricity and roads that were missing the man hole covers so the taxi driver had to keep veering around them. It was wonderful reading , each day a new adventure. Some times we would read the report as a group and laugh so hard. We were all sad when they left. All of that entertainment stopped

I am deeply saddend but what has happened I will miss his smiling face and that great hearty laugh. I will miss just sitting down and talking about satellites and his grand kid and the road trips that he would take with JoAnn to see his Grand Kids that were spaced all over the country

A bigger heart of gold you will not find.  Ron was so loved and respected at work, but when he talked about his family, his wife, his kids, his grand kids, he just lit up with light and love.  He truly cared about people.  He was inspirational and just made the world better by his presence.  He will be so very missed.  I am a better person for having known him.  Rest in peace, beautiful soul.

While I did not know Ron as closely as many of you, he will always be remembered as a person who deeply cared for his customers.  Ron was a great program manager and always strove to provide the best product.  He was a a superb ambassador of Kratos and ISI before that.   We always enjoyed working with Ron and will miss his great sense of humor as well as his BBQ, not too mention his knowledge of our systems.  Thanks for everything Ron and I hope you have a chance to cook in heaven.     

I first met Ron over 25 years ago when we worked together at CSC.  He, Steve O'Callaghan and I moved together from CSC to Telos and then to ISI.  Ron was a great guy and I knew if I ever needed anything I could always count on him.  One of my most favorite memories of Ron was the night we decided to play ping pong on the ISI cruise to the Bahamas.  The sea was exceptionally rough that night and the ship was pitching and rocking heavily.  We would attempt to spike the ball and the ship would pitch causing the ball to fly 6 feet over the table.  Ron and I laughed so hard we were both crying.  I was lucky to have known Ron and call him a friend.  I will miss him more than words can say.

I have known Ron from about 1996 when I was an ISI customer.  He has always been a person I was happy to see even when things were not going so well.  He has a cheerfulness and kindness about him that is hard to resist.

During times in which I was dealing with family troubles he always was always interested in how things were coming along.  His support was always welcome.

And I will never forget all the wonderful food he we would make and bring to ISI parties and even customer lunches during a testing week.


Ron will always be in my heart and mind.  I miss him already.


I know that Ron was well-loved and respected,  he great character and big heart.  Our sympathy is with you and your family in your time of grieving.


We were shocked and saddened to hear of Ron’s sudden passing.   He was kind, funny, and generous and we always felt warmly welcomed by him anytime we visited Cipher Row.  We feel blessed to have known Ron and have him in our lives, to hear about his cooking pursuits, his travel, and to share some laughs. We are saddened by the loss of our friend and neighbor Ron.  You are a kind and caring soul.  There are so many wonderful memories of the many hours we spent together on Cipher Row gathered for food; always dusted with your pepper blend, fun, drinks, Jell-O shots, s’mores, bonfires, music, and laughter.  Epic Halloween Parties and Block Parties!  Ron was always easy going and made everyone feel welcome.  He is the person that could pull everyone together.  Ron was a perfect match as a husband to his wife Joanne and a patient and loving father to his children and grandchildren.  We will miss you.  May you rest easy.

It was a pleasure to know Ron through Stephanie and Trevor. We enjoyed celebrating birthdays, holidays, baptisms, as well as family gatherings. My favorite memory will always be playing games together. Sequence will love on in our home in his memory. ❤️

I met Ron when I started my first full time job at ISI in 1997. Ron answered a LOT of questions for me (sometimes repeatedly) and was always kind and generous with his time. He was one of the characters that made ISI unique and fun. I came in to work one morning and found a butterscotch on my desk, and my officemate had a lollipop on his desk. Not too long later I popped the butterscotch into my mouth and my tongue started burning! I looked at the candy closely at that point and saw it had red flecks in it. I told my officemate either I've been poisoned or this is from Ron! I worked with Ron for 17 years and his face was one I was always happy to see whether to talk about work or family. I remember family birthdays were a top priority to him,  not to be missed! I was so happy when I got to see Ron at the Johnson's championship game party after I left ISI, I missed him, I'll miss him always and I'll never forget him. 

Ron was truly the most dedicated and knowledgeable colleague that I have had the privilege of working with for over two decades.  No matter how many challenges arose on our projects, Ron had the unique ability to solve problems while at the same time making all of us laugh and somehow feel instantly better about any difficult situation.  And no matter how busy Ron was, I’ll always remember how he made the time to stop and ask me how my Mom was doing when he knew she was sick.  I am so thankful just to have known Ron and will never forget him.

Mr. Ron always had this special warmth about his smile. He shared the best stories, and I always admired his love for his family and peppers. His kind energy, culinary mastery and humility will be greatly missed. We've truly lost a gem of Cipher Row. 

Ron Davies was an amazing man, and I am glad to have met him. My grandparents and I would travel to the East Coast every year and stop by his house for an extensive period of time. I remember that we were driving, and he talked about the 17-year locusts and how they would appear soon. Following that, he wanted me to come over when that happened, so when the 17-year locusts come out, we know that you'll be watching from heaven. We will miss you, Ron

Acquaintances in life are common, true friendship is rare.  We were truly blessed to have had Ron as a friend.  Sharing the past 30+ years with Ron and Joanne has been a joy.  We’ve lived in each other’s homes and each other’s hearts.  Words can’t adequately describe how great an experience that has been.  Now he’s probably reunited with our dog Maggie and making her pee on the floor!  We love you Ron!

I am so sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. That neighborhood group was my family and will always have a special place in my heart. Ron was the best neighbor you could ask for and we made the the most of it. So many stories come to mind. Hot early AM cornbread on the car roof, the card games in the street... so, so many. But my favorite was after riding Ron for a couple years about not making anything REALLY REALLY HOT for me, one night he did. I learned that night how to eat wings without them touching my tongue.

As some posts have mentioned, Ron had quite some adventures on his trips abroad to install EPOCH.   Many of his stories came with detailed explanations of the trials and tribulations that Ron was able to lead his team through,  Some, like the one shown below, required only a picture.   Ron represented everything good about ISI/Kratos and we are forever grateful to have him a part of our team.  We will miss our friend,  but will never, ever forget him. 

I had the pleasure and honor of working with Ron on many projects in Asia but I will always remember him fondly as a friend. He was beloved by his clients, and honest to a fault. As a client representative, I always felt confident that Ron would deliver - the client came first and Ron would always go the extra mile to ensure that his customers were happy. At least for the projects that I was involved with, he always finished a project with more friends than he came with. We shared many meals in far away places, and discussion would inevitably turn to our families. He took his family securely locked up in his heart wherever and whenever he traveled. He was a tremendous professional and driven by kindness and understanding for everyone. A lovely man. My sincerest condolences to the Davies family. 

Ron was a great friend and shared my love of hot peppers . I scream you scream we all screamed after Ron’s ice cream !  You will be truly missed . 

My heartfelt condolences go out to all Ron’s family and Friends – and there are many! I am honored and blessed to have known Ron when I started working for PanAmSat about 20 or so years ago.  I worked with Ron on several projects in which I can still recall his gentle and humble demeanor while at the same time exhibiting passion and knowledge at every task he worked on, we all owe gratitude for the knowledge we gained from him.   My other favorite memories of Ron are his stories. One story that stuck in my mind was about his travel overseas to a rural areas in Southeast Asia for EPOCH installation and support.   Ron woke-up one morning from a hotel bed with a large venomous snake passing by his side!!
We are all surely miss the presence of a truly lovable and kind person. 

Trevor, in my heart you are my brother in every sense that matters, and I will always be grateful for the fact that I could always be myself with you and Mr. Ron.

Whether it was playing Perfect Dark in the basement or him telling me to put my toilet paper in the freezer after he tricked me into eating a Tai Dragon pepper, almost all of the best memories I have between the ages of 8 and 28 involve Mr. Ron.  

I practically lived in the Davies house growing up, and even when I wasn't the smartest, even when I was a pain in the ass, Mr. Ron and Ms. Joanne always welcomed me into their home.  People don't seem to do that as much as they used to, but I am the man I am today because of my Cipher Row family, even if Mr. Ron did fart on my head sometimes.

My heart goes out to all of you.  If you need anything I am only a phone call away.

We were all shocked and saddened to hear about Ron. 
My heartfelt condolences to Joann, his children and grandchildren.
I was lucky to know Ron for nearly 20 years, ever since he came to Panamsat to install EPOCH for the first time with ISI. 
He was never too busy to answer any question, sometimes the same one multiple times, always generous of his time, explaining complicated concepts in a kind and understanding way.
He was a great mentor to me, and many people in the satellite industry, literally all over the world. 
In the last couple years, I spoke or emailed Ron almost every day, not just about work, sometimes just to talk, looking forward to the good natured ribbing.
His love for his family was obvious, he was always talking about his wife, kids and grandkids, and the last or next time he was going to see them.
I felt privileged to go to his house one time and "help" him prepare one of his delicious BBQs, a monumental amount of work he obviously loved to do. 
He treated us like family when we came to Kratos for testing or training, always making BBQ for us, providing our favorite drinks, so thoughtful.
I fondly remember the vial of spice powder he always used to carry in his pocket back in the day, to give whatever food that extra kick.
We lived on opposite coasts, didn't have much in common, but he was a friend of mine, I loved the guy, and every time I see a satellite 
in the night sky, I'll think of you Ron.
He was, and will always be, the EPOCH Godfather!

I remember his big and kind smile. When I first met Ron I was not familiar with my new job yet and also was struggling English. But he made me laugh a lot. He explained how American BBQ is good. I miss Ron so much.

I extend my deepest condolences to Ron's family.
I had a great working relationship with Ron while working with him at Kratos. He had a good-natured teasing sense of humor. In particular, I recall how he always shared meat that he barbecued on legal holidays. There was a time that I was the only employee at Kratos keeping a kosher diet and there was at least one other employee who kept a halal diet. After one of the legal holidays Ron asked me if there was anything he could do to make the food kosher, so that I could also partake of his barbecue. I told him the process with too complicated/difficult. But I will always remember how very thoughtful it was for him to think of me. We all miss you, Ron!

I remember the first time I met Ron. I was new to the PanAmSat ground software team and coming up to speed quick on Epoch. Ron was so easy to talk too and so giving of his time and knowledge. I think I must have emailed him hundreds of times in the early days.

I will remember him for a long time to come. The fact is Ron gave me the courage to question stuff on Epoch and I found ways to work around the roadblocks many times from things I learned from him in the early days. I still work around software blocks to this day. God Bless Ron!

In November 2019, the Kratos employees participated in the 1st Cancer Awareness Day. We wore hairdos and ribbons in solidarity and to lift spirits of employees going through cancer treatment. Never one to hesitate to lend support, Ron always had a smile on his face and a funny story. A strong man with a heart of gold. Ron could always be counted on to give encouragement, strength and hope to those who needed a strong shoulder to lean on.  Words cannot begin to express how deeply we will miss our friend and colleague.  Ron has been a light in the world, and still is.

My deepest condolences to all of Ron’s friends and family. Ron was such a sweet guy, I only knew him for a couple of years but we always shared lots of laughs together . He loved to tell me stories about his kids and grandkids. He would also share stories about his travels in Mexico and Asia, where tarantula attacks were a thing apparently. He also loved to tell me about his meticulous planning for his  BBQs and all the prep and strategy required. It was always nice to be around him, he always had a smile on his face despite whatever battles he was fighting. I’ll miss him and his BBQ. 

My father came to visit me close to Christmas and surprised me with a hand-crafted sleigh he built himself with a few reindeers. He was such an amazing man that was always giving and always loving everyone around him. I am so blessed to have something hand crafted from him. He was the best father I could have ever asked for and such an inspiring role model for me and my family. I miss him more than words can express and will never, ever forget the memories we created and all the beautiful things he taught me. I love you Dad, and I cannot wait to see you again some day. Until then, you will forever be in my thoughts and prayers until the day we are reunited. You were such a great Dad, I just wish I could have told you that.
