Ronald James Pfeffer, Sr. died Saturday, September 23, 2023 following a short bout with cancer. Ron was at home and with Family. Ron is survived by Audrey Pfeffer (wife) married 61 Years, Lori Gabler (daughter), Ronald Pfeffer, Jr. (son), “Dootsie” Darleen (sister), 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by J. Robert Pfeffer, Sr. (father), Ruth Coffee (mother), J. Robert Pfeffer, Jr. (brother), David Pfeffer (son) and Ronnie “Dink” Wilburn, Jr (nephew).
Ron was born on November 7th, 1944. Ron lived his early years at the Baptist Home for Children, Bethesda Maryland, (foster care) later attending Junior High in Southeast Washington DC.
Ron started employment at Tru-Ade Soda at the age of 14 with Lifelong friend Ricky Monahan, worked for Southern Bakeries, honorably discharged from US Army National Guard (participating in boxing), further worked in carpentry (foreman), high rise steel worker (foreman), founder/partner of a construction company in the 1970’s building 3 houses.
Ron later worked in airplane sales for Merle W. Entz (foster father) Manager of Harriet Alexander Field Airport, Salida Colorado where Ron obtained a personal pilots license. Ron later worked in mining (foreman) in Leadville Colorado setting dynamite with lifelong friend Ronnie Wilburn, Sr.. Ron later worked in junior sales with lifelong friend Tom Dillon at A&A Wholesale (19 Years) and rose to Vice President of Sales, Account Salesman at Hann & Hann Construction Services and sales/consulting at JMR Concrete until his retirement.
Ron loved and was very proud of his children and family and enjoyed playing horseshoes and cards at family events. Ron loved his many friends “If he made you a friend, he was your friend for life”. Ron had a strong heart to help those in need, many times considering others before himself.
Ron was a highly competitive sportsman talented and accomplished in many disciplines. Ron had a lifelong love for music, singing through adolescent years with a special love for Motown, DooWap and Classic Country music. Two of Ron’s favorite songs were “I can see clearly now” by Johnny Nash and “Kansas City” by Wilbert Harrison.
Ron confessed his personal relationship with his Savior Jesus Christ and wished the same for family and friends.
