Ruth Ellen England (nee Smith), passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025. Beloved Wife of the late Robert E. England. Mother to late son Keith R. England. Devoted Mother of Kenneth. Loving Aunt of Shirley England and Bob England and his wife Joann and family. Loving Sister of the late Caroline Humke and her family. Loving Sister of M. Wayne Smith and his wife Ruth Elaine and family.

Ruth graduated from New Windsor High School in 1945. Directly thereafter she worked as a bookkeeper at Smith's Poultry for seven years, and in later years worked as a crossing guard and at the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles.

This gracious, young at heart, warm, caring, generous, loving lady, who was a true lady in every sense of the word, will be especially missed as the matriarch of the Smith family.

Ruth was a devoted wife and mother, a faithful member of the Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church for many years, was admired for the way she handled loss and adversity in her life, and a beloved friend to many. She will be sorely missed for her ready smile and upbeat personality.

The family will receive visitors at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home and Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075 on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 10am, Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one of your favorite charities.
