Shahrukh Kermani

Shahrukh “Shah” Kermani of Olney, Maryland, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 19, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Nargis “Naggy” Kermani for 65 years, the devoted father of Benaifer “Beni” Kermani Devine, the respected father-in-law of John Devine, and the deeply caring grandfather of Sarah, Jessica, and Stephanie.

Born in Kerman, Iran, Shah was the youngest of five. He grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, where he enjoyed a long successful career in Banking. In 1975, he and his teenage daughter joined his wife in the US to begin a new life together. In the US, Shah returned to banking and worked hard to build a better life for his family. A lifelong learner, he was humble, generous, and always ready to guide and help others.

Shah was a devoted husband and father whose faith, humility, humor, and generosity guided his life. He cherished his family, cared deeply for those in need, and treated everyone with kindness and respect.

Shah’s life revolved around his three granddaughters, and he was a loving presence in their daily lives. He picked them up from school and activities, shared family traditions, and taught them kindness and respect. His loving presence in their lives was well known to their friends, parents, teachers, and coaches. His granddaughters brought Shah immense pride and joy, and his unwavering love shaped the close-knit family they cherished. Family was the center of Shah’s life, and the love, wisdom, and generosity he gave so freely will remain an enduring part of his legacy.

Beyond his family, Shah especially enjoyed Naggy’s cooking, cheering for his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins, and watching boxing and UFC fights. He treasured taking Naggy on drives and walks, but above all, he loved traveling the world with her, family and friends.

Shah will be remembered for his strength, humility, generosity, and steadfast dedication to those he loved. His beautiful and selfless spirit will be dearly missed. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with the love of his life, his Naggy!

Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
