On December 14, 2016 after of valiant battle with cancer, Sylvia Thadine Mills passed away at the age of 67, surrounded by her family. Sylvia is survived by her beloved husband Roland N. D. Mills and her devoted daughters Sylvia R. Mills and Natasha Mills-Brown and her husband Curtis Brown; dear sister of Denise Ruffin, Laverne Poindexter and her husband Larry, William Ruffin, III and his wife Karen and the late Parran, Vondalea and Donna Ruffin and Yvonne Mercer; Loving grandmother of Anthony JR Nipper, Rashard Matthews, Devin Carter, Timothy Player, Sa-von and Amari Ringgold and Faith Player.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A Life Celebration will be celebrated at St. James Episcopal Church 1020 West Lafayette Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21217 on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00am. Entombment Meadowridge Memorial Park. Family wishes donations to be made in Sylvia's name to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for Maryland.
