Taner Marcelo Altinay

Taner Marcelo Altinay, age 37, of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 after experiencing sudden heart failure. He was born on April 28, 1985. Taner is survived by his mother, Beatriz H. Ruiz, his father, Yasar Altinay and his son, Nathaniel Roman Altinay. He also is survived by his grandparents, Eddy and Beatriz A. Ruiz and Halide Altinay; his sister, Asli Altinay and brother, Mert Altinay. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Serif Altinay and his godfather and uncle Bernard (Buddy) J. Weese. Taner was a beloved son and grandson, a devoted father and a cherished nephew and cousin. He will be missed by many family and friends who recall his great kindness, wit and alegría de vivir — a joy that increased exponentially with the birth of Nathaniel eight years ago.

Family and friends of Taner will be welcomed at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington, Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075 on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4795 Ilchester Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21043 on Friday, December 30, 2022, 10 AM. An inurnment will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
