

Theodore Davis, age 66, of Elkridge, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024; He was born on July 10, 1958 in Washington DC to parents, Theo and Christine Davis (nee Moore); Beloved husband of Kimberly T. Davis; Loving father of Jasmine Davis, Aaliyah Davis, and Theodore Aaron Davis Sr. and his wife Heather Antoinette Davis; step-father of Anecia Tongue, Tiffany Bullock, and Richard Ramirez; Cherished grandfather of Morgan, Kayla, Kellen, Laila, Elaina, Elyza, Travis, Theodore Aaron Davis Jr. and Alexander Imre Davis; Loving brother of Theo Davis, Josephine, James, Jerome, Beverly, and Yolanda Jackson; Uncle of 37 nieces and nephews; Dear son-in-law of Judge Gwendolyn Fair.
Theo retired after 36 years of dedicated service at Howard Community College, where he inspired colleagues and students alike with his professionalism, knowledge, and kindness. His career was a testament to his commitment to education and the community, leaving a legacy that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A true lover of 60s and 70s music, his passion for the art form extended beyond listening—he was a gifted musician. He played both bass and acoustic guitar, as well as the keyboard, and his soulful voice brought life to ballads that spoke to the heart. Music was not just a pastime but an essential part of his identity, and his performances often left those who listened deeply moved.
His talents didn’t stop at music. A man of diverse interests and accomplishments, he earned his First-Degree Black Belt and was dedicated to the practice of Aikido, demonstrating both physical discipline and spiritual balance. His commitment to personal growth and mastery was an inspiration to all who knew him. He also embraced the joy of movement in other forms, from dancing to gymnastics, which he studied during his time at the University of Maryland College.
Despite his many achievements, he was best known for his calm and gentle demeanor. He approached life with an inner peace that radiated to those around him, providing comfort and steadiness in times of need. Whether through music, martial arts, or simply his presence, he touched countless lives with his authenticity and kindness.
He will be remembered as a man of many talents and deep passions who lived his life fully and with grace. His legacy of music, strength, and compassion will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Receiving of family and friends for Theodore will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at MMP, Inc., 7250 Washington Blvd., MD 21075, followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.
