Willis Birl Mullenax Sr.

Willis Birl Mullenax, Sr., age 87, died Wednesday September 21, 2011 at Anne Arundel Medical Center surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born October 21, 1923 in Bend Bush, West Virginia to the late Floyd and Ina Mullenax. He married his wife, Betty Louise Huffman on April 2, 1943, one month before he went off to war. In 1946, after his honorable discharge from the service, he moved from Davis, West Virginia to Severna Park, Maryland where he started his career at General Motors paint department. He worked there for 30 years retiring in 1976. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, hiking, vacationing and when his sons were younger, the boy scouts. Willis, Sr. is survived by his wife Betty, his children, Willis, Jr. and wife Faye, Cindy and Harry Reed, Sheila and her husband Rick, and Ellery and his wife Wanda; his siblings Lorna Canan and family and Robert Mullenax and family and his 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075 (Exit 6 South off Rt. 100) on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 3:00 to 7:00pm where a funeral service will be held in the Vermillion Chapel on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 10:00am. Entombment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
