She was very proud of her family and of her Slovenian heritage. Angie was the happiest when her home was filled with family and friends all sharing lots of her traditional foods while teaching us many Slovenian and Croatian traditions.
Angie loved her flower garden and could identify each of the many varieties. Over the years she received many different plants from friends and could tell you who gave her each one. Many hours were spent caring for her beautiful yard. She was often complimented on the beauty of her colorful flowers.
Angie also enjoyed music especially when dancing the polka to a Frankie Yankovic song with her longtime friend Fred Jovanovich. Other interests were cooking, canning, huckleberry and mushroom picking, summer picnics with family and friends, traveling, playing cards with her Pinochle group every Thursday, and sharing stories from the past with friends of all ages.
A highlight of her many travels was a trip to the Old Country with her Mother Angela, son Mark and daughter in law Roxann, cousin Rose Gasparich and friends Ray and Katie Kladnik. They enjoyed visiting with family and sightseeing in her parents’ home towns of Solcava and Gorenja Vas, Slovenia.
A Celebration of Angie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 7th at the Hawthorne Hall, 3rd. Street, Ronald, WA.
