Our creator called Esther Lovell home on January 29, 2017 while surrounded by close family members. Esther was born the daughter of Elmer and Erma Wiggins, November 19, 1920 in Wood River, Nebraska. She married her high school sweetheart, Cloyd James Lovell on October 8th 1942. In 1944 the first of Esther’s children, a daughter was born, followed by three additional daughters in 1948, 1951 and 1961. Esther and Jim traveled the country from coast to coast, during his service career as Chief Petty Officer in the United States Coast Guard. Following Jim’s separation from the service they settled with their four daughters in the Wallingford district of Seattle. In 1973, Esther and Jim built a home for their retirement on Camano Island, Washington. Widowed in 1991 Esther remained at their Camano Island home for another 16 years. The year 2007 saw Esther move to Ellensburg, in order to be closer to family. Her residence from that time until her passing was at Hearthstone Cottage Senior Living. While at Hearthstone Esther was beloved by her many friends, neighbors and the Hearthstone staff. Esther was a kind and generously caring person who will be sorely missed by all who knew her, especially by her three daughters, their husbands, her five grandchildren and her twelve great grandchildren. In addition to Jim, Esther was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothy and Joyce, and her beloved daughter Jenelle Faye. Survivors include daughters Sandy Peterson (Bill) of Ellensburg, Pam Oftedal (Stig) of Yakima, and Karen Lovell (Rick) of Redmond, Washington. Her grandchildren include Jennifer Hagemeier (Mike), Robin Soliday (Lance), Heidi Philip (Chad), Dustin Oftedal (Arielle) and Autumn Oftedal. The family requests that those wishing to donate in remembrance of Esther consider the Kittitas Hospice Friends or to any other organization of choice.
