

Gene immediately entered the Navy out of High School where he served with distinction as a S-1C gunner’s mate on the USS Batton during some of the worst battles in the Pacific during WWII.
Gene resided in CleElum for 20 years. He loved the great outdoors, snowmobiling, motorcycling, was well traveled and was a true Gentleman.
Gene is survived by daughter, Shari Hardy, and grandchildren Laurren and Kaleb of Austin, Texas. Son, Shawn McDonald, Seattle. Nephews, Jerry and Gary McDonald. Eva McDonald, wife of late brother Gerald McDonald. Cousin Pearly and friends he loved dearly.
Gene, a man of great character and integrity, always put others needs before his own. I love you and miss you Dad! I hope they have pie and raspberry mocha’s in heaven! Gene McDonald will be greatly missed!
Eugene's cremation arrangements are under the direction of Steward & Williams Tribute Center of Ellensburg, Washington.
