Theda Renee Meredith-Shapiro

Renee Meredith Shapiro left this world on January 30, 2014, in Ellensburg, Washington. Renee was born on November 13, 1958, to Laveta and Maurice Meredith in La Mesa, California. Renee graduated from Corona Senior High School in Corona, California in 1976. She then attended Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas. On August 4, 1979, Renee married Greg Ramsey at Buena Park, California. Renee and Greg had two children, Alex Ramsey and Christina Ramsey. On February 14, 1995, Renee married Lee Shapiro in Issaquah, Washington and together they had Ian Shapiro. During her life, Renee lived in California, Arizona and Washington and worked in various capacities. Her most rewarding work was for the Issaquah School District as a Telecommunications Specialist. During that time, she also served as an Event Planner for the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the ISLUA.Renee was pre-deceased by her father in 1999 and her brother, Maurice Meredith, Jr. in 2008. Renee is survived by her husband, Lee Shapiro and her son, Ian Shapiro, both of Ellensburg, Washington; her son, Alex Ramsey and his wife, Maria, of Ravensdale, Washington; and her daughter, Christina Ramsey and her partner Antonio Hughes of Seattle, Washington. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jacob Ramsey, Caleb Ramsey, Keeley Ramsey, Leia Ramsey, Lucy Ramsey, Kitty Ramsey and Ayanna Hughes. Renee is also survived by her mother of Brunswick, Maine, a sister, Betsy Meredith, of Brunswick, Maine, and a brother, Malcolm Meredith and his wife Katy Meredith, of Madras, Oregon, a sister-in-law, Sandra Meredith of Coolidge, Arizona, and a brother-in-law, Elliot Shapiro of Little Ferry, NJ, as well as nieces and nephews.There will be a private service for family and friends, the date and location has not yet been decided. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of one's choice. Perhaps a donation to The American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Association.
