Barbara Jean Dishon

Barbara was born on October 28, 1935 in Bradenton, Fl., and went to her heavenly home on April 28, 2024 at the age of 88. There she joins her parents, Carl and Annie Lee Durrance, her beloved brother, David, stepdad Dick Atz, her husband of over 25 years, Marshall, precious granddaughter, Crystal, and son-in-law Johnny Medeiros.

She is survived by her daughters, Terry Medeiros, Laurie Moody and husband, Matt, grandchildren Mandy Hamrick (Shawn) , Bobby Moody (Ashley), Jonnilyn Spinks (Joel), and great grandchildren Noah Hamrick, Mattea Hamrick, Ryder Moody, Sunday Moody, Harvey Spinks and Annie Spinks.

Barbara was a lifelong Manatee County resident, and graduated from Manatee High School. She worked for a time at the Palmetto Police Department, and attended First Baptist Church of Palmetto.

She devoted her life to her family, and loved nothing more than spending time with them. She was always there to take care of everyone. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with all her heart.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 10:30 at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave. E., Ellenton, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00.
