To The Dan May Family:

While I have not seen Dan in recent years, he is part of my memory.  We worked together at Ford Heavy Truck engineering in the mid-1970's.  I know, that seems like a long time ago.

His humorous wit and hard work left a lasting impression on me.  If we all could approach life as Dan did, the world would be better place.

Dear Sarah & Matt,

We still find it hard to believe that your dad is gone.  He was a "larger than life" individual who influenced many people in his professional and private lives, and was so proud of both of you. Our memories of Dan and is interactions with both of you; especially Sarah, who has been our daughter's best friend for many years, will not be forgotten.

So sorry to hear of Dan's passing.  I always enjoyed our chats when he came through my line at Publix.  He was a nice man and always very pleasant .  He will be deeply missed.

I am saddened to hear about Dan, yet thankful for his impact on me. 
As we each move along in years we begin to realize that the impact that we have on others far outlasts each of us.  And because of that, there are those whose impact on our lives will continue to bless us long after they are gone.  For me, Dan is one of those individuals.  He was instrumental in my job offer from Ford Motor Company, but he was much more than my first supervisor.  He was a good and valued mentor, professionally and personally.  Of course, some of the things he taught me served me immediately, while other things didn't become apparent until years later.  But his effect on me, on my career and on my personal life are significant; it  continues to serve me to this day, and for that I will always be grateful.
My condolences to Dan's family from another Ford colleague who is grateful for the impact Dan had on me.

I've been with Sarasota Ford for 28 years and I've had to opportunity to meet many fascinating people , with Dan May being near the top of that list. I never tired of the many stories he shared about his career with Ford and the people he worked with. He was a good friend who'll be missed by many.

I met Dan thirty years ago at Ford Heavy Truck. His wit and wisdom on all topics was a pure delight. He always held Kathy and his children in highest regard and his untimely passing is difficult to accept. Our condolences to his wife Kathy and all his family during this difficult time.

Dan was a great neighbor.  He would always say Hi and ask how you were doing.  My favorite memory is Dan coming out at nighttime with his "headband flashlight" walking the dogs.  He will be greatly missed.

It was my privilege to know and work with Dan at Ford Motor, Design Analysis for many years.  He was one of the nicest guys I ever had the pleasure of knowing, always offering to help anyone with anything and he always had a upbeat can do attitude.  I will always remember Dan and his boyish smile with fond memories.
