Darrell Max Bacon joined his Father in heaven on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Darrell was born to Lloyd and Ollie Bacon on June 11, 1919 in Mulliken, Michigan. He was a resident of Mulliken until retiring to Ellenton, Florida in 1987.
A graduate of Michigan State University’s Agricultural Program, Darrell was a dairy farmer most of his life. He was recognized for his agricultural innovation, having one of the first fully automated state-of-the-art milking parlors, and was proud of having the first pole barn in the state of Michigan.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jerry, and by sons Richard (Beth), Tom (Debbie) and Dennis (Ginny), grandchildren Shawn Bacon, Kristen (Jason) Tweedle and Erica Bacon, and by great-grandchildren Alyssa and Taylor Tweedle and Jaxon Bacon. Darrell is also survived by brother Robert Bacon of Mulliken, Michigan and sister Clara Alice Webb of Lansing, Michigan. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Bacon.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1st at the Ellenton United Methodist Church at 11:00am, followed by a luncheon at the church. Interment will be at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Mulliken, Michigan on Monday, February 4, 2013.
