David Kenneth Woodrich

David Kenneth Woodrich, (Woody to his Michigan friends) age 66, passed away on December 31, 2025. Dave was born on April 15, 1959, in Pontiac, Michigan, Dave was the beloved husband of Jennifer L. Michelsen and a devoted father to Joel Woodrich, Briana Woodrich, Josh Woodrich, and Taylor (Tommy) Tomovich and grandfather to Andrew and Aria Tomovich and Amelia Diaz.

Dave was the son of Kenneth and Evelyn Woodrich, he was preceded in death by his parents as well as two of his three sisters, Cynthia Hall and Lauren Childers. He is survived by his youngest sister Elizabeth Ireland. his first wife Carol Ashburn-Fernandez, his four children, three grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. He grew up in Michigan and attended high school in Rochester Hills, where he proudly played football and ran track—early passions that reflected his lifelong love of the outdoors.

A dedicated and skilled heavy equipment operator, Dave worked in his trade for more than 40 years most recently for Westra Construction in Palmetto, FL, where he earned the respect of his colleagues through his strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet pride in a job well done.

Outside of work, Dave found joy in simple, grounding pleasures. He loved spending time at the beach, riding horses, camping, and watching a good game of football. These moments—whether out on a trail, around a campfire, or cheering on the Detroit Lions—were where he felt most at home.

Dave will be remembered for his steady presence, his loyalty to those he loved, and the deep care he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held on March 1, 2026 at Noon at Little Manatee State Park, 215 Lightfoot Road, Wimauma, FL 33598.
