At age 80, Delphine Elzer of Ellenton, Florida peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 after many years of illness and suffering. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Delphine’s French Canadian and English heritage was central to her upbringing. Her Grandmother, an immigrant to Canada from England, passed down family recipes that inspired Delphine’s love of baking for her family and friends. Delphine met Clemens, her husband of 62 years, when she was only 15 years old and quickly knew they would someday be married and raise a family together. Over the years, they raised three successful children and enjoyed an active life within their community. They were happy being involved in club activities and had a large circle of close friends both in Michigan and Florida. Their family expanded with the addition of two grandchildren and more recently, great grand-daughters. Delphine is preceded in death by her husband Clemens, survived by two sons Eric and David Elzer; a daughter Debbie Fox (Richard), grand-daughters Nicole Trumble and Kyla Morris; and great grand-daughters Brooke, Amelia & Zoey. Family and friends are invited to A Celebration of Life for Delphine at 4pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave East, Ellenton, FL 34222. Dinner is being served after the celebration at Richard and Debbie’s house in Ellenton.
