
On January 13, 2014, Diane Schipper of Ellenton, Florida, went home to be with her loving Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on February 11, 1938, to the late Charles Edward and Margaret Mayzetta Thomas in Columbus, Ohio, where she graduated from Mifflin High School. She married the late James Schipper in 1978. She is survived by her late husband, James’s, four children, Florence Schipper of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Nancy (Fred) Kessinger of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Dorothy (Larry) Myers of Grandview, Tennessee, and Bill (Marsha) Schipper of Cassville, Wisconsin. She was lovingly called Grandma by James’s seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In her final year, she was cared for by her dedicated companion Ed Dale.
Diane worked as a secretary and grant writer for the Manatee School District for 14 years. Diane loved to music and singing and traveling. In High School she was selected for the Ohio State choir. Her love of singing continued throughout her life. She was a member of Sweet Adelines with the Magic of Manatee and the Toast of Tampa. She sang in church choirs and as a soloist for weddings and funerals. A memorial service will be held by Rev. Vangen, on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church, 9608 U. S. Highway 301 N in Parrish, Florida at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave. East, Ellenton, FL following the service.
