He was born in Lake Wales, Florida and is survived by his wife Gwendolyn “Gwen” Williams Mimbs, children Tim (Leslee) Mimbs of Parrish, Mike (Sherri) Mimbs of Avon Park and Karen Mimbs of Palmetto, sisters Miriam Stone, Lorraine Davis and Eva Jane Purdy, grandchildren James, Jerad, Jenna, Hunter, Garrett, Dalton and Drew, and by great-grandchildren Austin and Emma.
Mimbs was a member and deacon of Palm View First Baptist Church. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Palm View First Baptist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, January 31st at 10:00am with services following at 11:00am at Palm View First Baptist Church, 415 49th Street, East in Palmetto. Arrangements are being handled by Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park.
