Frank was drafted into the United States Army in 1943, and was soon after called to be a part of the Army Air Corps where he served as a gunner during WWII. During his time in the Army, he was sent to Drake University in Des Moines, IA, where he met Patricia Grasse on a blind date. They were married shortly after. After his discharge in 1946, Frank resumed working for the National Cash Register in Dayton, working his way from the assembly line to becoming a design engineer. He was relocated to Wichita, KS, in 1973. He retired from NCR in 1978, and moved to Cape Coral, FL, and later Ocala, FL, where he and Pat enjoyed years of golfing, traveling, and playing cards with friends. Most of all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Minix. They were married for nearly 68 years. He is survived by his daughter Sandy Ott, and son-in-law Dave; his son Dan Minix, and daughter-in-law, June; and his daughter Judi Davidson, and son-in-law Chuck; grandchildren, Brenda Kern, David and Dan Ott, Brooke Lundquist, Matthew and Joseph Minix, Brad, Chase and Lauren Davidson; 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, with one on the way.
A memorial service with full military honors will be scheduled at the Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
