George Edward Whitcomb

He was the maintenance engineer at Auburn Memorial Hospital from 1945 to 1975. George also worked as the Choir Director at the Second Baptist Church in Auburn for 13 years before moving to Bradenton, FL in 1975. In Bradenton, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, taking an active role in the Music Ministry and Helps Ministry. George also worked maintenance at Bausch and Lomb.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia in 1995, son Donald in 2002, second wife Freda in 2005 and granddaughter Erin-Michelle in 1995.

George is survived by his son Larry Whitcomb (Dawn), grandsons; Nathan, Timothy, Philip and Joel and great grandson Brandon; all of Yorktown VA. He also survived by daughter-in-law Beverly, grandson David, great granddaughter Ella and granddaughter Sarah; all of Waynesboro, VA.

The Visitation will be on Saturday, August 12 from 9:30 to 10:30 with the Funeral Service starting at 10:30. All services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Bradenton and officiated by Reverend Rick Speece.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missionary Fund at Calvary Baptist Church.

Interment will be Auburn, NY with Langham Funeral Home at a later date.
