A devoted wife and mother, Gloria cherished her time spent with family and friends. She raised her children, Pam and Mark, alongside her husband Paul, a WWII veteran and career employee of International Harvester in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Retiring to Florida in 1980, they spent wonderful times pursuing their hobbies and doting over their children, grandchildren (5), and great-grandchildren (6). Gloria's loving and caring nature was always present in their lives.
Gloria was also active with career and social interests for much of her life. She worked 10 years full-time in the business office of Manatee Memorial Hospital, and after that part-time for 18 years at Bealls Department Store as a sales associate. She took particular joy each Christmas playing "Mrs. Claus" in the store.
Socially she was very active, participating in community parties, dances, and other activities. She was a long-time member of the Beta Sigma Phi women's social sorority, going to conventions, field trips, dinners and other gatherings. She maintained those connections to the very end, enjoying an afternoon of lunch and card playing with two of her sorority sisters just weeks before her passing.
Gloria led a full life, and will be sorely missed by her family, her friends, and her neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gloria's honor to the Make-a-Wish Foundation (wish.org)
