Henry Richard Peters

Henry Richard Peters, age 84, was a man who built a foundation for his family of warmth and empathy, who preferred kindness and gentleness to all else. Those of you who knew him, knew him as “Richard” or “Papa” Peters. Richard was born in Sarasota FL. He was a proud graduate of Sarasota High School and proudly worked and established himself a wonderful life here in this very town.

In 1986, he met his wonderful, and devoted wife, Dixie Lee Peters. In their 38 years together, Richard and Dixie shared a blended family of children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren whom they have selflessly dedicated their life to.

Richard loved hunting, farming, being outdoors, and being with his family. He was a fixer of all things, a loyal family man, and the kindest soul anyone has ever known.

Though our lives will never be the same, our memories of Richard will live on. His family and friends will miss him more than he will ever know.

A funeral service will be held at the Groover Funeral Home on July 18, 2024 at 4pm in Ellenton, Florida. A burial service will be held on Friday July 19th at 1pm at the Mansion Memorial Park Cemetery in Ellenton, Florida.
