Ed graduated from Sarasota High School in 1969 and went on to become an RN, serving others for over 40 years. He was accomplished on the Double Bass and played for 50 plus years in the West Coast Symphony as well as the Anna Maria Island and Venice Symphony Orchestras, and also performed in the Singing Christmas Tree at First Baptist Church in Sarasota for 40 plus years
He is proceeded in death by his son, Christopher J. Lane parents, Jim and Lee Lane; and his baby sister, Karen Lane. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Penny Lane; brother, Rick Lane (Margaret) of Winter Park, Florida; sister Donna Nave (Dave) of Asheville, NC; brother in law, Bill Glenn of Sarasota; daughter, Barbara (Jimmy) Clark of Palmetto, 3 nephews, 1 niece, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and many beloved cousins and friends.
A celebration of life for Ed at the First Sarasota Baptist Church, 1661 Main St, Sarasota, FL 34236 on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Coast Symphony.
