My first memory of Jimmie was about 40 years ago. My family and I had recently moved from Bradenton to Duette. We lived on Bunker Hill Road directly north through the woods and across the creek from Jimmie & Donna. It was New Year’s Eve and somehow we got an invitation to come to Jimmie & Donna’s NYE party. We rode over, through the woods, and
were welcomed by Jimmie offering a glass of his homemade strawberry wine. I think he may have already had “a few”....but it didn’t take long for us to catch up. The wine was delicious and I got the impression the party was an annual event! We loved Jimmie & Donna. Our kids went to school together and grew up in 4-H together. I remember Jimmie being at 4-H Camp Cloverleaf with all of us. Duette has lost a good man.

Jimmy always shaked my had with a big smile. I enjoyed talking NASCAR with him. Going back and forth on how Ford was better than Chevy (he liked Ford). He is a good friend that I will miss...
