

He was born on August 16, 1934 in Waukeenah, Florida to the late Andy and Lois Buzbee Cadwell. He is survived by his children, Steve, Amy (David) Willis and Lettie (Rich) Skon, and his grandchildren, Cole and Annie Willis and Lane and Ava Skon, all of Palmetto. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Andy and Faite. He leaves behind many treasured and faithful friends including Jonathan Davis and Don Seaman, and a very special nephew, Larry Pearson.
His family moved to Palmetto when he was a young boy and he graduated from Manatee County High School in 1952. He served in the US Navy and together with his brother, Faite, he owned Palmetto Canvas Co. for more than 40 years. He was a member of Gillette Baptist Church for nearly 50 years, serving in many roles. He received the honor of Deacon Emeritus in 2011. Buzbee loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. Those that knew him best know how he loved telling stories. He was a humble, faithful, honest and generous man who loved his family and friends deeply and leaves behind a legacy that makes his family proud and will continue to touch the lives of others.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park 1400 36th Avenue, East in El-lenton, and the funeral service will be held Monday, December 29th at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Gillette, 3301 97th Street, East in Palmetto. Memorial donations may be made to the FBC Gillette Building Fund.
