John Joseph McCarthy Jr.

He was born on October 9, 1945, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to the late John and Mary McCarthy. John built a long and dedicated career in telecommunications, working for AT&T and New England Telephone, where he served as a regional manager for the New England area.

Beyond his career, John enjoyed woodworking and golf. He found peace in his workshop and camaraderie on the course, sharing both with the people he loved.

John is survived by his loving wife, Dale McCarthy; his four children, Lynn Ghiglieri (Benjamen) of Kingsland, GA, Janis Wilcox (Stephen) of Columbia, CT, William McCarthy (Colleen) of Tennessee, and Michele McCarthy of Parrish, FL; and 12 cherished grandchildren: Scott McCarthy, Anthony Ghiglieri, Caitlyn Ghiglieri, Joseph Ghiglieri, Nora Wilcox, Meghan Wilcox, Alyssa McCarthy, Jenna McCarthy, Claudia McCarthy, Connor Sargeant and Michael Miller.

He is also survived by his brothers, Timothy and George McCarthy, of Massachusetts.

A Celebration of Life for John will be held later in the year.
