John R. Redburn (Johnnie Bob Redburn), age 83 passed away peacefully at home in Ellenton Florida on March 14, 2024. He was born in 1940 in Salem Illinois and grew up in Mishawaka Indiana. John married the love of his life Mildred Redburn on November 7th, 1964 and they were married for 54 years. John was an Army Veteran and was retired from the Mishawaka Street Department. John loved spending time with his children, visiting with neighbors and cruising around on his golf cart. He is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Redburn, his parents, Otto and Eloise Helpingstine, Charles Redburn, his granddaughter Millissa Fuchs, his sister Wanda “Jeannie” Homes and sister-in-law Judy Helpingstine.
John is survived by his four children, Julie Miller (Rick), Tara Staples (Jack Maike), Tracy Collins (Richard) and Bobby Redburn; brothers Patrick Helpingstine (Evelyn), Dale Helpingstine (Terrie) and brother-in-law James Holmes, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a very special niece Leeanna Keen (Don). A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
