Born on March 17, 1950 in Lakeland, FL to Charles and Mildred Crider, Ken spent his teenage years in Merritt Island, and graduated from Merritt Island High School. He worked for McDonald Douglas contracted by NASA, FPL and went on to work as a Respiratory Therapist later in life.
Ken was known for tinkering on just about everything. He loved collecting and shooting guns. He enjoyed surfing as a teenager on the east coast of Florida.
Ken is survived by his wife Margaret Crider; brothers Richard (Bonnie) and Tom (Chris), sister Nancy Helveston (Robert); daughter Cari Kilgore (Ken), son Corey Crider (Melissa) and step-daughter Apryl Reeser (Bob); 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Rudd.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church, 1021 5th St W, Palmetto, FL 34221. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church of Palmetto in Ken’s honor.
