Lorenzo Alvarez Sr.

Lorenzo (Api) Alvarez Sr. peacefully entered the arms of the Lord in his home on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at the age of 84. Mr. Alvarez was born to parents Nicolas Alvarez and Julia (Dones) Alvarez on September 20th, 1941 in Las Pedras Puerto Rico. At 18 he moved to the United States, in 1964 he moved back to Puerto Rico, and in 1966 he moved back to the States to Manatee County Florida where he would live for the rest of his life. Mr. Alvarez was a faithful Christian man, he was married to his loving wife Marie Christine Alvarez for 61 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, friend, grandfather, and great - grandfather. He was a hardworking man, having worked for 30+ years as a heavy machine operator with Taylor and Fulton Co. to support his family. He is predeceased by his Mother (Julia), Father (Nicolas), Sisters (Rosa Alvarez), and (Ester Alvarez), along with Brothers (A. William Alvarez), and (Victor Maldonaldo). He is survived by his Wife (Marie - Palmetto FL), Daughter (Julia - Indiana), Son (Nicolas - Bradenton), Daughter (Pilar - Bradenton), Son (Lorenzo Alvarez Jr. - Venice), Son (Eliseo - Polk County), Sister (Heri - New Jersey), Brother (Ramon Maldonado - Puerto Rico), Nieces, Nephews, and Many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

Service Information: Committal service will be held on October 31st, 2025, 12-2pm at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park. The service will be led by Clergy Abraham Sanchez and our Pallbearers will be Ivan Hernandez, Luciano Alvarez, Nicolas Alvarez Jr., Lorenzo Alvarez III, Tyler Hoban, and Javier Alvarez.
