Malcolm George Norwood, Jr. 78, died suddenly on September 9, 2021, in Parrish Florida. He was born on May 23,1943 and attended North Andover, MA High School, graduating in 1961. He was the former owner of Mal’s Barber Shop and known by many as “Mal the Barber”. He was a member of Cochichewick Lodge, the North Andover JCs, and a board member on the North Andover Housing Authority for many years. He was a volunteer for Little League and coached Girls’ Softball. He volunteered at Manatee Memorial Hospital for 10 years and was very active at the Parrish United Methodist Church. He loved to dance and had a vibrant personality that lit up a room. He will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Todd, father, Malcolm George Norwood Sr., stepmother, Regina Norwood, and brother James Norwood.
Malcolm is survived by his wife Mary Norwood (Parrish, FL), Diane Norwood (Haverhill, MA) his former wife and mother of his children, daughters, Heather Norwood Cole and partner Diane McKeen, Andrea Norwood Messina, and husband Phillip Messina (Derry NH) and Lisa Pardee (Jacksonville, FL); grandchildren, Brittany Cole Boyle, and husband Brian Boyle (Intervale, NH), Austin Messina (Windham, NH), Adam Messina (Derry, NH); great grandchild, Tyson Boyle (Intervale, NH) and several Nieces and Nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Parrish United Methodist Church in Parrish, FL.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the The Shriners or Parrish United Methodist Church.
