She is survived by her husband Richard, their children Elizabeth O’Day, Katharine Haag, Richard Jr., and Patricia Preshur, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, in addition to a sister Patricia Higgins and brother William Higgins.
While she was waiting for her husband to complete an Air Force career, she completed a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree. She then worked with elementary students as a guidance counselor in Omaha, Nebraska, and spent 20 years in the Pinellas County school system. She enjoyed golf, sewing, tutoring and bridge to fill her day.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 9 AM, with Services to follow at 10 AM at Mansion Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Ellenton, FL. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in the future. The family request donations to Hospice in lieu of flowers.
