December 12, 1938 – February 10, 2026
Raymond E. Varnadore of Palmetto entered his heavenly home on February 10, 2026, at the age of 87.
Born December 12, 1938, to the late Norman and Addie Mae Varnadore, Raymond was a proud lifelong resident of Palmetto and a 1956 graduate of Manatee High School. While working at the Seahorse Gift Shop, he met Beverly, the love of his life. Their 65 years of marriage were marked by devotion, partnership, and unwavering commitment to one another.
For more than 62 years, Raymond owned and operated a service station and auto sales business on 8th Avenue in Palmetto. He believed in honest work, fair dealing, and standing behind his word. Customers became friends, and friendships often lasted decades. His steady presence and integrity left a lasting mark on the community he loved.
Raymond was a faithful Christian who loved Jesus deeply. Psalm 23 was his favorite scripture, a reflection of the quiet faith that guided his life and gave him peace.
Nothing brought him greater joy than his family. He rarely missed a ball game, recital, graduation, or celebration. Whether sitting in the stands or gathered around a table, he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. His steady encouragement and pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will be remembered always.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly; his sons, Ray (Tambra) of Palmetto and Wayne (Cindy) of Jacksonville, Florida; his grandchildren Bruce (Jessica) Varnadore, Ryan (Katie) Varnadore, Blake (Heather) Varnadore, Daniel (Allyson) Varnadore, and Kathryn (Vincent) Jeffries; and his great-grandchildren Deacon, Roman, Braelynn, Owen, Kaylee, Audrina, Grayson, and Madi Rae. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce (Shirley) Varnadore of Palmetto, and his sister, Jean (David) Owens of Live Oak, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Albritton, his brother N. Donald Varnadore, and his sister Linda Stovall.
A private graveside service will be observed by his immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice - Bradenton Hospice House, located at 2504 34th Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34205.
Raymond’s life was defined by faith, family, and faithful work. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
