Your final wishes – we have done. 
We brought you here to be with Mom --  who is your one and only Love and  your only Wife in God's eyes.  

Now our Mother and Father are together for all Eternity.

You are also next to your Son, Bill, who took a part of your heart when he went to be with the Lord in 2005.  Now Bill has all of your heart.

All we ask is when it is our time --  that  all of you will be there with all of your love to escort us into heaven to be with you for all of Eternity.  

Life on earth really is just a second … we can now look forward to what lies ahead.

I know, Ma & Pa, you are smiling down on us now -- seeing all of your children here holding hands and sharing this moment together.

Till we meet again.

Oh yes, Mom & Pa, you probably thought your work was done. Come on, not when you have Hempel boys.  First of all, please keep Bob cancer-free.  You have a direct line to the big guy up there.  

I just know you both looked at each other when you saw your youngest, Brian, roaring down the street on his Harley -- and said, ”does it ever end?”  So please watch over him, keep him safe, and be his Guardian Angel.

And David – he seems to be doing well and is happy.  Please keep him healthy and safe too!

Hi Dad i will remember when i was a little boy and would sneak in bed with you where i felt safe , and all the times you put your arm out for my saftey when you had too stop sudden , and the very best times was when we started telling each other we love you i will miss you calling and checking on me see you some day .Brian

There are a few things I would like to add to Robert Hempel's obituary that we knew were very important to him.

Bob was a US Navy Veteran who served in WWII from 1943-1946 and was very proud to serve his country.  On a regular basis he recognized other Veterans and active military by giving them a “Grateful American” challenge coin.  That was his way of thanking those individuals for their sacrifices and service to our country and at the same time making a contribution to wounded warriors. He was well known and appreciated by the Grateful American Coin family.

Bob and his Wife, Rose Marie O'Rourke, met in Detroit, Michigan, and  were very happily married from 1951 until she passed in 2006.  Bob and Rose Marie  had 5 beautiful children: Linda, William, Robert, David and Brian, and they moved to FL in 1986.  Grandchildren now include Tracey Besek, Nicole Ziemba, William Hempel, Robert Hempel, and Sally Hempel. There are also  4 great grandchildren: Thomas and Emma Besek, Audrina Hempel, and a brand new great grandson, Jackson Ziemba. 

In addition to working at Peshki/Oscar Mayer for years and retiring,  Bob then again retired from Klondike in FL in the late '90's.  Bob and Rose Marie so enjoyed living in FL, it wasn't long before all their grown children migrated to FL.  

Bob was a kind, generous, and hard working man who believed in God and Family and worked hard to raise his children and instill the same qualities in each of them.  Bob and Rose Marie's legacy lives on in their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Although Bob will be greatly missed here on Earth, we are happy to know he is once again united with his true love in Heaven.

I did not have the opportunity to meet Mr Hempel but his name was mentioned often by David.  Condolences to the entire family.

Bon Voyage will never mean the same thing.  Marc and I so enjoyed sailing with you, Vi, David and Michele.  Steer us through the rough seas, we will take all the guidance we can get.  You will be remembered fondly.


A loyal wonderful husband, a fun and caring dad, and Father-Inlaw.   We have good memories that provide much comfort during  this time of sorrow over losing you.  Thank you for always being there for us as both a Dad and best friend.  We will miss you a lot.  But you will continue to live in our hearts.   I know you are happy and with The Lord.

So long for now,pa you will be missed.
