

Robert L. Leonard (Bob) December 9,1930 - December 13, 2023. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years Mildred (Milly) Jackson Leonard and his eldest son John Leonard. He is survived by his sons Ron of Georgia, Bobby of Palmetto and daughter Lori of Anna Maria, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Bob was born and raised in the central Indiana area and graduated from Butler University College of Pharmacy in Indianapolis. He subsequently became the director of Pharmacy for Grant Hospital in Marion Indiana. Upon moving to Florida in 1958 he owned and operated Lee Rexall Pharmacy in Palmetto Florida for 18 years. He concluded his career as a staff pharmacist at Manatee Memorial Hospital. He served as president of Palmetto Kiwanis Club and Manasota bi-county Pharmaceutical Society. Bob is a combat wounded veteran. He served with the U.S. Marines in the Chosin Reservoir battle in North Korea.
Bob had a love affair with motor vehicles having owned and cherished more than fifty cars, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, RV's and boats. He was an avid camper and traveler. While well into his 90's, Bob could be seen riding his bike throughout his subdivision.
His kindness, generosity, good humor, and friendly disposition will be missed by all who knew him. Graveside services will be held at Mansion Memorial Park 1400 36th Avenue East, Ellenton, FL 34222 on December29th at 11am. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer Foundation in his memory or the charity of your choice.
