Ruth Fling, 92, of Palmetto, Florida, died of natural causes on November 26th at Tidewell Hospice in Ellenton, Florida. She was born October 2, 1921 in St. Charles, Virginia to the late Hobart and Esther Brewer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Fling of Palmetto, brothers Edgar and Ezra Brewer of Pennington Gap, Virginia, sister Mary Sam Elza of Valrico, Florida and two grandsons, Carl Curtis and Derek Thomas Fling. Survivors include her son Gerald D. Fling and daughter-in-law Costery Fling, sisters Gladys Collins of Charlestown, Indiana and Jean Brendle of Jeffersonville, Indiana, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and longtime friends Joseph and Doris Dow.
Family and friends may visit Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 Ellenton Gillette Road in Ellenton, Florida on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, December 3rd at 11 AM at Groover Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
