It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Sharon Ann Ford, born January 18, 1947, in Ashtabula, Ohio. Sharon passed away on October 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and service to the medical profession.
Sharon was a graduate of Edgewood Senior High School and Cleveland State University, where she studied to become a nurse. She was a proud and passionate registered nurse for over 40 years helping all kinds of patients through the most trying times of their lives, including those needing intensive care and memory care.
Aside from nursing, Sharon was an avid gardener and cook, known for her love of summer fruits and vegetables, Italian dishes, and desserts. She was also an engaging storyteller, regaling all with tales of her travels around the world.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, John Ford; her three children, Sarah Ford of Gansevoort, New York, Daniel Thornhill of Washington, District of Columbia, and Samantha Teague of Albany, New York; her granddaughter, Chynia Bonnell of Brooklyn, New York; her sister, Barbara Piekarski of North Kingsville, Ohio; and her brother, Steven Monda of Bradenton, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Doris Monda, formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio.
Sharon will be fondly remembered by family, friends, patients, and everyone who knew her. Please join us for a celebration of her life to be held on October 18, 2025 from 11 am to 2 pm at Groover Funeral Home, Ellenton, Florida. A second service will be held on October 25, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm at Zaback, Williams & Ducro Funeral Home, Ashtabula, Ohio. This will be followed by interment at Ridgeview Burial Park, also in Ashtabula, Ohio.
