Sonia Bermudez, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24th, 2024 at Manatee Memorial Hospital. She was born in Havana, Cuba on June 27th, 1946, daughter of Reinaldo Astorga and Africa Gonzalez.
Sonia came to the United States as a teenager, and eventually became a proud US Citizen in 2001. She finally settled in Bradenton, Florida in 1992 where she lived the rest of her years. She was a hardworking and dedicated single mother to her only son, Javier. She lived a simple life with a great love for animals and nature.
Sonia is survived by her son and his wife, Javier and Stephanie, and two granddaughters, Kayla and Desiree.
Her family will be holding a small, private service to carry out Sonia’s final wishes of having her ashes spread over the ocean.
