February 23, 1943December 12, 2011

Susan L. Kessler, 68, passed away on December 12th, 2011 in Bradenton, Florida after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Susan grew up in Patchogue, New York and was the daughter of the late Milton and Rose Ernst. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Keith, along with her two daughters, Elyse McGuire and Jodi Pergola (Tim). In addition, she leaves behind her sister Patty Lunior. She was blessed to have five grandchildren—John, Alanah, Thomas, Miranda, and Corrina, along with several nieces and nephews.

Sue and Keith previously resided in Buffalo, New York, where Sue worked for the Veterans Hospital, from which she retired in September of 2002. Sue and Keith moved to Bradenton in 2003 after Keith retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, and have lived a happy life for the past nine years. Sue was an incredibly warm and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family will hold a service and interment on December 15, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Avenue, East in Ellenton. Guests are invited to attend a celebration gathering after the service at the Funeral Home for food, beverage and to share memories of Sue’s life. Donations may be made in memory of Sue to the American Cancer Society.

It was always nice to see Sue and Keith when they came to visit Jodi and Tim in Florida. She was always easy going and pleasant to be around. She loved her daughter's and grandkid's so much and it was nice to see that a family can be so tight knit. She is not alone right now, she is with her Mommy (The Wonderful Nanny Rose maybe playig the penny slots :) and her Dad Milton who I never had the pleasure of meeting but heard great things through Rose. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and hope you can find comfort in your memories of Sue.
