Theolla Bell Cannon was born on March 20, 1930 in Myakka City, Florida. She was a deeply rooted and proud 4th generation Manatee resident. Theolla enjoyed reading, writing, storytelling, and sewing. She was a member of Harvest United Methodist Church in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
She is survived by her children Harris E. Cannon, David Cannon (Diane), Jimmy Cannon (Janie), Rodney Cannon (Sherry), Mark Cannon (Debra Grieve) Penny Brinson (Steve Williams); eight grandchildren, Amy (Tom) Arrant; Darrin (Heather) Cannon, Joel (Jessica) Brinson, Darryl (Tiffaney) Cannon, Diane Cannon, Earl (Jennifer) Cannon, Brian and Joel Williams; 15 Great-Grandchildren, Zoey Cannon, Piper Cannon, Gemma and Remy Brinson, Darrylin Cannon, Sorryl Cannon, Cade Cannon, Dakotah Cannon, Savannah Cannon, Ciara Cannon, Alyssa Pritchett, Jake Pritchett, Cole Arrant, Everett and Kelly Williams; three great-great-grandchildren; and her brother Melvin (Louise) McDonald.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Cannon; Parents, Irene Carlton Mcdonald and Johnnie E. McDonald; her sister, Louise (Owen) McDonald Albritton; brother, Johnnie E. (Marlene) McDonald; grandparents, Marion (Ellen Knight) Carlton; daughter in-law, Marcia Cannon.
A visitation for Theolla will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave East, Ellenton, FL 34222. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Palmetto Cemetery, 900 14th Ave West, Palmetto, FL 34221.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice in honor of Theolla.
