It is with great sorrow, we share the passing of our father, Ulysse Joseph LeBlanc. Dad missed Mom so much and was reunited with her, once again, on November 24th, 2024. At the age of 90, he passed in his home in Ellenton Florida after a long battle with congestive heart failure with his devoted daughter and caretaker Claudette LeBlanc at his side.
Ulysse was born on August 13th, 1934, the son of Edward and Alma LeBlanc in Ste. Marie De Kent, NB, Canada.
Along with his parents, Ulysse was predeceased by his wife Dorothy LeBlanc, son Ronald LeBlanc, brothers Ireene, Gerald, Emilie and sisters Odillia Arsenault, Viola Cormier and Hectorine Cormier. Brother in-law Norman Arsenault and Great grandson John Koch.
He is survived by his brother Leo LeBlanc and wife Gilberte of Stoughton MA, sister-in-law Laura Arsenault of Fitchburg MA & Ellenton FL, and sister in-law Maria Leblanc of Moncton NB. Also survived by daughters Linda Hakala, Claudette LeBlanc, Gail Paschal, Eunice LeBlanc, LorieAnn Aldrich and daughter in- law Melody LeBlanc.
Additionally, fourteen Grandchildren Jeremy, Christy, Adam, Shaun, Sandy, Brad, Jenna Thomas, Christina, Christopher, Dyllan, Matthew, Nicolas, and Kiptyn, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
He married his beloved wife on July 10th, 1954, in Ontario Canada. They came to America in 1961 to Fitchburg MA then Ashburnham MA before settling to their forever home in Ellenton Florida.
Dad was hard-working and dedicated. He spent 35 years working as a sheet rocker for Pelletier and Son’s in Fitchburg MA while also a member of the Carpenters Union.
He was a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and Lighting, and an even bigger fan of country and Acadian music. He also loved the LeBlanc family reunions, a time he was grateful to connect with his brothers and sisters and their families. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time chatting over coffee with his friends.
Ulysse loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace surrounded by light. Ulysse was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who spent time with him.
He will be missed especially by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, with whom he spent countless hours watching any game or activity they were involved in. Ulysse could be found on the sidelines, in the stands or wherever his grandchildren or great grandchildren needed and wanted him to be. They will miss his Facetime calls, corny jokes and of course, his PANCAKES.
Ulysse had one final request as he faced his fate with dignity and strength. He was able spend his final days with “his twins” - great grandchildren Maddi and Beau. Ulysse was able to enjoy 4 joyful days with Maddi and Beau watching Lassie, eating pancakes, and enjoying on his final golf cart ride around Terra Siesta Co Op together.
We will have a celebration of life to be held in January 2025, dates to be announced, with a funeral following in August in New Brunswick Canada where will lay both our Mother and Father to rest.
