David Leonard Lassio

David Leonard Lassio, born November 9, 1951, in L’Anse, Michigan, passed away on August 17, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and loved ones who will forever remember him.

David was adopted by Aldo and Violet Lassio, who raised him as their beloved son. He grew up alongside his adopted siblings, Michael Evsich, who preceded him in death, as well as Susan Crowley and Diane Lahti.

Later in life, David had the opportunity to meet and build connections with his biological mother, Marcella Auger, as well as his biological siblings, Norma Jean Tessmer, who also preceded him in death, as well as Jane Darcy and Robin Henry. These relationships became another meaningful part of his life and his story.

David was married twice and was the proud father of four children. From his first marriage came his oldest daughter, Monica Lassio. His second marriage brought three more children into his life: Bryce Lassio, Skyler Lassio, and Lacy Lassio. His children were an important part of his life, and in his later years, being closer to them became especially meaningful to him.

David spent much of his adult life in Colorado, where he worked as a butcher at Kroger/King Soopers. He took pride in his work and in the years he spent as part of the community there.

Recently, David moved to Coolidge, Arizona, to be closer to his children and to have the opportunity to develop deeper relationships with his grandchildren. He cherished the time he was able to spend getting to know them: Bryce’s children, Tyler and Mireja, and Lacy’s children, Eli, Aubrey, and Jax.

David’s life was shaped by many families and relationships—his adoptive family, his biological family, his marriages, his children, and his grandchildren. His story was one of connection, family, and the enduring bonds that continue across generations.

He will be remembered by his children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and all those whose lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the love shared with his family will remain.
