Frances Diaz, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the age of 87 in Chandler, Arizona. Born on August 11, 1938, in the vibrant city of San Antonio, Texas, Frances was a woman of many talents and passions, who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
As a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she embraced family life with an open heart, pouring her love into every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Frances was particularly fond of her eight grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride. She always found time to share a laugh, play a game, or simply teach them the fine art of crocheting, one of her many hobbies.
A longstanding resident of Eloy, Arizona, Frances was well-known in her community. She devoted herself to her craft, having gone to school to become a barber, where she built a client base that reflected her warm personality and welcoming nature. Her haircuts were as much about connection and friendship as they were about style, and many returned for her infamous storytelling sessions that often accompanied a trim.
Frances had various interests that brightened her days. She was an avid watcher of wrestling and enjoyed relaxing with thrilling western movies. Her love for crossword puzzles kept her mind sharp and engaged, a testament to her spirited curiosity and zest for life. But above all, it was her profound love for her family that defined her existence. Every gathering was an opportunity for Frances to shower those she adored with warmth and kindness, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Frances is survived by her children: Debra, Frank, Andrew, Luther, Carol, Ignacio, and Donna. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, Sylvia Blanquiz and brothers Rudy and Alfred Campos, who carry on her legacy of love.
Frances joins in eternal rest her devoted husband, Ignacio "Nacho" Diaz, her parents, Nick and Manuela Campos, her brothers Nick Campos, Equiel and David Campos, and her son John Carrera. She also reunites with her beloved grandson, Frankie Carrera Jr., and granddaughter Connie Carrera, gone but never forgotten.
A true beacon of love and resilience, Frances Diaz leaves behind a legacy that embodies family, faith, and laughter. Her spirit will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family and friends, whose lives she enriched with her unwavering love and compassion. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we celebrate a life that sparkled with joy and affection, knowing she will forever be watching over her loved ones from above.
