Jesusa Y Mendez

Jesusa “Sara” Mendez, born October 5, 1949, passed away on October 11, 2026. She will be remembered with deep love as a woman who embraced life fully and shared herself generously with those around her.

Sara was known as a community chef, a gift that reflected both her warmth and her spirit of welcome. Through food, fellowship, and the everyday kindnesses that gather people together, she made an enduring impression on family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She lived her life to the fullest, meeting the years with heart, strength, and a presence that will not be forgotten.

She is survived by her loving children: daughters Sandy Mendez Salinas, Sally Salinas, Alvaluz B. Ruiz, Guadalupe Barcelo-Duran, and Jessica Rodriguez, and her son, Rigoberto Mendez. She is also survived by her sisters Maria Barrera, Rosa Mendez, Dominga Padilla, Juanita Gastelum, Candida Ruiz, and Maria Sylvia Coronado, as well as her brother, Jesus Mendez, Liborio Mendez Jr., and Ramon Mendez.. In their love for her, and in the memories, they carry forward, her life continues to shine.

Sara was preceded in death by her father, Liborio Mendez, and her mother, Rafaela Mendez. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Delia Mendez; her grandson, Francisco Javier Barcelo Ruiz; and her grandson, Domingo Barcelo. She now joins her beloved siblings who passed before her: Teresa Salinas, Alejandro Mendez, Lupe Flores, Maria Elena Mendez, Rafael Mendez.

Those who knew Sara will remember her for the life she built through love, resilience, and care for others. May her memory bring comfort to her family, and may the example of her generous spirit remain a lasting blessing to all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at J. Warren Funeral Services Valley Chapel, 601 North C St., Eloy, AZ 85131, US, on October 19, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Prayer Service will take place at St Helen's Catholic Church, 205 W 8th St, Eloy, AZ 85131, US, on October 20, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am.
