Born on January 4, 1949, in Texas to Jorge and Virginia Elizondo, Juanita’s journey began when she and her family moved to Eloy in 1960 as migrant workers. It was here that she would lay down roots, create a loving home, and eventually raise her own family.
Juanita was known for her incredible culinary skills, often bringing joy to her family gatherings with her renowned tamales and menudo. She found delight in the simple pleasures of life—watching old movies, delving into the pages of her beloved books, and enjoying the serenity of her garden, a sanctuary where she found peace. Her greatest joy, however, was found in the moments spent with her family and the affection she freely showered upon her beloved dogs.
She leaves behind her four adoring children: Margaret Soto, Veronica Alvarado, Sergio Elizondo, and Abram Elizondo, along with five cherished grandchildren and twelve precious great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her devoted siblings, Fernando Elizondo and Blanca Cabrera.
Juanita is lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched, although she is preceded in death by her parents, Jorge and Virginia, as well as her brothers Marciano, Oliver, Ruben, Jose, and Israel.
