He grew up in Eloy and to most he was the town’s best mechanic. Though his mechanical skills were unmatched with his kindness and ability to fix cars from the heart. A man of faith with a heart of gold. Who was a true people person who never forgot a name or face.
So full of life. An inspiration to many with his manly personality. He was known for his contagious smile, big green eyes, and funny jokes. If you had the pleasure of knowing him, he left you with a smile for sure. His greatest joys were spending time with his family and friends. He loved all of his grandkids more than anything. Roy was learning new hobbies and had a deep love for sports. He loved watching NASCAR and football. Always cheering for the Buffalo Bills.
With rain or shine his partner, Tony, was always by his side, teaching him a thing or two. For Roy, music was his life. He could often be found in his yard with his headphones on, singing along to the Rolling Stones, The Beatles or CCR. “TURN IT UP!” was his vibe when he heard music. Above all, his favorite person was his wife. Who he adored from the first moment he saw her. As she adored him. Together, the love they shared was beautiful, built on a strong foundation of teamwork. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage together. Roy’s legacy will live on and continue to inspire his family with the beautiful memories he leaves behind. A wonderful man who will be deeply missed.
He leaves behind his wife, Juanita; a son, Rogelio Gonzales Jr. of Casa Grande, Arizona; and two daughters, Melinda (Larry) Ramos of Arizona City and Annalisa Diaz of Eloy; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Penny Herrera of Laveen and a brother, Fidencio G. Gonzalez of Tucson.
